A laugh-out-loud evening with Roger McGough

A laugh-out-loud evening with Roger McGough

On Saturday 26th August we were honoured to be part of North Coast Arts’ “Alive and Gigging” Roger McGough event in the beautiful Secret Garden at the Falcon Hotel, Bude.

This rare and special open-air performance with ‘the Godfather of Poetry’  was a funny, sad and moving show featuring new poems as well as old favourites. Roger, now 85 years old, describes himself as being at ‘that awkward age between birth and death’ and the audience were treated to a truly special, laugh-out-loud evening.

We’re now lucky enough to have some signed copies of Roger’s many and varied works available in store so, if you’re in Bude, why not pop in and treat yourself or a poetry-loving friend to a special and unique gift.

For those of you who are further afield, we’ve put together a collection of our favourite McGough titles over on our site, where you can buy books online safe in the knowledge that you’re supporting indie bookshops and all the community value they offer.
